AIT beta testing new Aurora Image Service

AIT is pleased to announce that a new product, Aurora Image Service, is now in beta testing.

This software is a book, movie and music front cover web service in the cloud which can take a request from an Aurora WebOpac or other software (E.g. Aurora vShelf) and then check for a local copy, or fetch it if required from various possible sources before returning the image to the user.  It is able to create a dynamic cover if one does not exist which means every single item gets a standard sized cover image and there are no broken images or gaps (as with the blue covered book below). It also means that if one image cover service goes offline, Aurora Image service will automatically skip over it and go to the next one.
