AIT’s online contact form now supports Re-CAPTCHA

AIT is pleased to announce that our new Website’s contact form is now integrated with Re-CAPTCHA. reCAPTCHA is a free CAPTCHA service that helps to digitize books, newspapers and old time radio shows. A CAPTCHA is a program that can tell whether its user is a human or a computer.

AIT thought it a worthwhile addition due to the relevancy of the digitization projects that this project is a part of. reCAPTCHA improves the process of digitizing books by sending words that cannot be read by computers to the Web in the form of CAPTCHAs for humans to decipher. More specifically, each word that cannot be read correctly by OCR is placed on an image and used as a CAPTCHA. While this helps AIT by removing spam potential from our contact form, it also aids in the project as users are inadvertently assisting with this digitation of old information.
